Static IP addresses and charges

Business Broadband Services

  • /32 range – 1 usable IP (1 IPs) – Comes as standard. £0 charge.
  • /30 range – 1 usable IP (4 IPs) – No IP form required. A monthly charge of £5 per IP address applies (includes unusable)
  • /29 range – 5 usable IPs (8 IPs) – IP justification form is required. A monthly charge of £5 per IP address applies (includes unusable)
  • /28 range or lower - not available. Customer must switch to an Ethernet service.

Business Ethernet Services

  • /30 range – 1 usable IP (4 IPs) – Comes as standard. No IP form required. £0 charge.
  • /29 range – 5 usable IPs (8 IPs) – IP justification form is required. £0 charge.
  • /28 range – 14 usable IPs (16 IPs) – IP justification form is required. A monthly charge of £5 per IP address applied over the 8 provided free in the /29 (includes unusable, so £40/month)
  • /27 range or lower - Unavailable.

Residential Broadband Services

At present customers receive a public IPv4 address, however we may need to switch home broadband package customers to a CGANT shared public IPv4 address.

  • 1 dynamic IPv4 address framed as /32 - Comes as standard. £0 charge.

Additional IPs only available on Business Broadband or Ethernet packages.

Home Worker Package

  • 1 static IPv4 address framed as /32 - Comes as standard. £0 charge.

Additional IPs only available on Business Broadband or Ethernet packages.

IP justification Form

Please see attached Excel form below. This form needs to be completed in full and with as much information as possible to support any IP request /29 or lower. Additional IPs provided at the discretion of Wessex Internet.

IPv6 addresses

We are currently trailing IPv6 and will announce a roll-out when this is available.

These will either be assigned as /56 or /48 blocks for business customers and /64 blocks for residential. There will be no extra charges for IPv6 when available as we have billions and billions! :)
